All her days differ from each other. Lara Gessler, owner of a well-known Warsaw patisserie and author of cookery books, considers the ever-changing daily events as incredibly important to her creativity, which thrives whenever her life picks up pace. Her home is a reflection of the life she leads, and the interior design evolves along with the life of its inhabitants. Lara looks at her home as a chronicle of her own history, a treasure trove of enjoyable memories, constantly creating and changing its décor.

Lara surrounds herself with memories, and her apartment acts as a chronicle of family life. The colourful painting in the living room is a reminiscence of her childhood days and a lifelong companion. The painting of a Polish Highlander purchased at an auction in Zakopane has an unusual story – this image was featured on Lara's wedding invitations even before she had a chance to buy the painting.
Despite art forming an organic part of her interiors, Lara emphasises that its role is not sacred. She surrounds herself and her family with superior-quality objects, wishing to expand her children’s artistic tastes. She likes to support Polish artists and designers but openly defines her requirements.
I don't claim that something is 'good because it's Polish'; it has to be 'good and Polish'. I don’t buy anything for the sole reason that it was made in Poland. As a society, we are only just beginning to appreciate applied art and seeing the job of an artist as a fully-fledged profession.
Her home is full of objects that combine aesthetics with practicality. One such item is a metal sculpture of a woman in a yellow frame, which usually hangs on the wall but occasionally acts as a fruit bowl. Another is a piece of furniture designed by Lara – a kitchen island and a worktop previously used as a baby changing table. Functionality, simplicity of form and mature design solutions are the characteristic elements of her kitchen. It leaves space for creative ideas, with all the elements having a practical use. Lara also looked for such versatility in her kitchen sink mixer.
I use filtered water for rinsing vegetables and fruit for the children, for the coffee machine, the kettle and for drinking on a daily basis. I also use it for cooking. I no longer have to worry, plan in advance or buy bottled water.
The kitchen is the heart of Lara’s home, and cooking for Lara is not just a skill but a profound form of caring for and nurturing her loved ones. In her daily life, she focuses on awareness and ecology, minimising waste and paying attention to the food products enjoyed by the family. The quality of the water used plays a significant part in this conscious approach. The OMNIRES SWITCH kitchen sink mixer with a water filtration system helps Lara in her everyday conscious and healthy approach to eating. Thanks to its minimalist and elegant design, the mixer also adds a touch of elegance to the kitchen. The matt white of the mixer emphasises the character of the kitchen, acting as an expression of purity and homeliness.
At home, I mostly relax. Of course, there is no end to creativity in my head, it’s difficult to say ‘stop’. Even at night. I come up with a lot of things in my sleep. However, home is definitely a place to regenerate, to 'regroup'.
