The exhibition “Enlightenment” by Marek Bimer is a multidimensional presentation guiding visitors through different stages of the artist’s creative journey. Organic forms, luminous objects and material experiments create a space of encounter with what is sensual, intuitive and deeply personal. Supporting the exhibition is a natural continuation of OMNIRES’ collaboration with the artist, who previously participated in a project dedicated to the SWITCH kitchen mixer collection. His works also form part of the OMNIRES Showroom space in Warsaw’s Powiśle district.
“Enlightenment” is a monumental exhibition inviting visitors to engage thoughtfully with the work of Marek Bimer. Rather than imposing a single path of interpretation, it leaves space for an individual reading of his creations. The artist’s objects remain open to perception, their meaning evolving with the viewer’s perspective. The setting itself plays a significant role in this narrative. The raw industrial space spanning 1,500 square metres becomes a powerful backdrop for the exhibition. Its scale and atmosphere allow the works to be experienced not only as individual pieces, but also as part of a broader story about artistic expression that resists simple definitions and emerges from the artist’s personal experiences.
It was very important to me to show that my father (Marek Bimer, editor’s note) did not emerge alongside the wave of collectible design, which at one point became a strong trend, but that he had been exploring this direction much earlier. This exhibition is a continuation of all his creative pursuits, while at the same time becoming a culmination and completion of that journey.
Natalia Bimer, curator of the exhibition
OMNIRES’ patronage of the exhibition is a natural continuation of the brand’s collaboration with Marek Bimer. Previous chapters of this relationship included a shared reflection on the role of everyday rituals within the project dedicated to the OMNIRES SWITCH kitchen mixer, as well as the presence of the artist’s works within the OMNIRES showroom space in Warsaw’s Powiśle district. With “Enlightenment”, this relationship takes on a new dimension. Selected OMNIRES products have been woven into the exhibition’s artistic narrative, co-creating a story about water, movement, light and art.
We are deeply family-oriented and value other family brands that create meaningful things together. I remember that it was OMNIRES who first approached us several years ago with the idea of a shared project. We truly appreciated the outcome, which is why returning to OMNIRES for this exhibition felt like a natural step. It proved to be a wonderful decision, because we were given tremendous support and creative freedom. It is a true privilege to work with people like this.
Marek Bimer, multidisciplinary artist
The shared journey of Marek Bimer and OMNIRES within the exhibition space begins with the installation “Rain over Venice”, featuring the OMNIRES SWITCH kitchen mixer, also present in the artist’s apartment and studio in Warsaw’s Sadyba district. Incorporated into a sculptural composition with the “Source” bowl placed on a marble pedestal, the mixer is removed from its everyday kitchen context and presented through an artistic lens alongside the light objects “Dandelion I & II”. The composition is completed by a painting by Michał Slezkin, whose floral motif introduces a reference to nature as another life-giving force shaping the human experience.
Water and light symbolise renewal, tranquillity and inner balance. They can accompany everyday rituals, yet also take the form of art. Created through the combination of “La Peregrina”, the OMNIRES Y bath mixer in graphite finish and a dark mirror-like water surface, the installation forms a composition based on the symbiosis of these two natural forces. The water absorbs the glow of the object, carries it across its surface and diffuses it through movement, opening the space to an individual experience that engages the senses and invites contemplation.
The flower meadow, concluding the “Enlightenment” exhibition, places the light sculptures of Marek Bimer within a scenographic landscape created by Remigiusz Dorawa. A surreal, post-apocalyptic meadow emerges, inhabited by standing forms suspended between plants, sculptures and living organisms. Within this scenery appears an installation of a spring with flowing water and the golden spout of the OMNIRES BEYOND collection, whose fluid line echoes the shape of flower-like sculptures. The stream of water becomes a symbol of life, revealing the tension between what is life-giving and a nature marked by human presence.
Our patronage of the exhibition Enlightenment is a natural continuation of our collaboration with the artist, who had previously participated in a project dedicated to the SWITCH kitchen mixer collection. What connected us was a shared sensitivity to form – restrained, harmonious and timeless – one that does not dominate a space, but subtly co-creates its character. By supporting the exhibition, we once again become part of an initiative that invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of sensual experiences expressed through the language of contemporary artistry.
Paulina Shacalis, Managing & Creative Director
“Enlightenment” by Marek Bimer is presented in Warsaw within the industrial interiors of a former pharmaceutical warehouse, whose raw character forms an important context for the exhibited works. The exhibition is open for two weeks, offering visitors the opportunity for a personal encounter with the artist’s work.
