ŁÓDŹ DESIGN FESTIVAL | 2024

One of the key industry events in the world of European design and architecture, the Łódź Design Festival every year attracts both industry leaders and those passionate about design. The 18th edition of the Festival had a multidimensional character for us and culminated in the prestigious Must Have award and our participation in a variety of accompanying events. We acted as a partner of the “Encounters” exhibition organised by Pawlak & Stawarski Studio and as a sponsor of the “Architecture of Health” thematic block.

The Łódź Design Festival provides us with a space to enjoy inspiring discussions on topics of great importance to contemporary design and architecture. The event also serves as a confirmation of our role in shaping the latest standards and trends. We are delighted that by working with the best experts in the industry and participating in numerous festival events in the sector, we can promote a healthy lifestyle and innovative solutions, which were of particular significance here.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGNS

The Must Have competition, organised by the Łódź Design Festival, has been running for the last ten years. The competition recognises the best Polish designs that are characterised by innovativeness, immaculate design solutions and environmental responsibility. In 2024, we received this prestigious award for the fourth time. This year, the winner in the category of products intended for the kitchen was our SWITCH collection. Our innovative kitchen sink mixers that conveniently provide two independent water streams – regular and filtered – were presented during the competition winners' exhibition at the Łódź Art Center.

This year's edition of Must Have showed the strength and maturity of Polish companies. The impressive list of award-winning manufacturers and designers is proof of the value that comes from consciously building a brand portfolio and investing in design. Such awards provide validation that Polish design has exceptional potential to compete on global markets.

DESIGN RETROSPECTIVE

The Łódź Design Festival 2024 was also a significant event for the design duo Bartłomiej Pawlak and Łukasz Stawarski, who were celebrating the Studio's 10th anniversary. Omnires was a partner of the anniversary exhibition, which showcased products designed by the Studio over the last decade. Visitors to the exhibition were able to see these designs at different stages of their creation, which allowed them to understand both the creative process and the technical aspects of design. Visitors had a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of design and see some examples of the Studio’s implemented projects. The examples shown combined functionality, aesthetics and innovation – values that are close to the designers' hearts. The exhibition included, among others, the award-winning collections of baths and basins designed for OMNIRES: SHELL, NEO and CADENCE.

We are delighted that we were able to present an overview of the last decade of our design work at this edition of the Łódź Design Festival. Our exhibition showcased in an approachable way projects that were particularly important to us and to which we devoted time, energy, and great quantities of positive emotions. As a result, our exhibition had the form of a friendly get-together with the visitors, during which we were able to unveil the secrets of design thinking and our technological resources.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF HEALTH

The Łódź Festival is also a platform for discussing issues that are crucial to contemporary design and architecture. We believe that our involvement can shape present-day standards, which is why we were the sponsor of the “Architecture of Health” thematic block, which focused on modern approaches to health, prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Discussion panellists included renowned experts such as Mateusz Bielesz, Aleksandra Kulińska, Robert Konieczny and Maciej Franta.

The meeting culminated in the première of the film Architektura Odnowy (Architecture of Renewal) directed by Ewa Trzcionka. The documentary tells the story of the expansion and modernisation of the spa town of Ustroń, which is considered a pearl of European modernism, and the challenges faced by the architects in the process aimed at transforming the town’s natural and cultural heritage. The film is an important voice on various aspects connected to health and comfort. As this topic is a key priority for us, we were pleased with the opportunity to support this event.

We believe in thinking about our future with a greater sense of agency. We hope that meetings such as the “Architecture of Health” and films showcasing the beautiful notion of spa towns, especially in Poland, will direct public thinking towards the trend of looking after ourselves, our well-being and our health. We also look forward to investors and architects appreciating what we already have – our spa destinations.
