Drains, wastes and traps should be cleaned regularly, and their connections checked for leaks. Accumulated dirt may restrict water flow, cause unpleasant odours or lead to leaks. The basket in a linear shower drain trap should also be cleaned periodically – remove the cover, pull out the basket, remove any accumulated dirt and wash it with warm water.
